Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement today. Its hard to believe that Sachin is retiring, leaving behind him a plethora of records to break for youngsters. We will miss his elegant straight and cover drives, the gentle and classy shots, his on field presence that terrorizes any opposition. Its end of an era of cricket, which was dominated by Sachin’s class and style. The legend has retired and no one can match his qualities on and off the field. There cannot be another Sachin – its end of an era of Cricket. Someone said it right – “The game will not be the same when the Master will play no more.”

21kms/hr

This was my speed in today’s BSA India cyclothon. Completed 25kms in 70 min. It was a good experience to cycle with a huge crowd mostly comprising of military people. I was ahead of most of the military guys at the finish line, cheers! . Regular gym and exercise really helped me to build stamina, last time I participated in sunfeast world 10k marathon,2010, and completed 1okms in 100min.

Well, next event will be sunfeast world 10k, 2011. Hope this time I clock in mush lesser time, may be lesser than my cyclothon timing.

Sachin – “The God of Cricket”

Posted: November 6, 2009 in Sports

It was a treat for those watching yesterday’s match. Sachin singlehandedly sailed India through, but unfortunately the lower order batsmen lost their nerve and India lost. The target of 351 was difficult, but “The God” made it look easy.

Sachin’s innings was a treat in itself. Not only he showed his talent with bat, but he also delegated his fellow batsmen. The confidence of R.Jadeja was to be seen after he hit two consecutive fours in the last powerplay. In the last powerplay, where Sachin could have played a major role and match might have ended earlier(had he taken charge), R.Jadeja was at his best. It would have been a great learning for the newbie to bat in such a crucial part of the game and seeking advice from “The God” and executing it to perfection.

The God has done it again. I managed to see the innings, thanks to my bro for providing the internet live tv link. Was struggling to get stream, so had multiple browsers opened with several server links. If one halted, browsed to the other, making sure I do not miss a single ball till Sachin was playing. He is just two weeks away to complete two decades of his cricketing career. He played his first match against Pakistan in 1989. Two decades and still standing tall. Kudos to “The God”.
